Quickly becoming known as the City of Waterfalls, Hamilton has over 126 falls & cascades for locals & tourists to enjoy.

Hamilton's Dundurn Castle is a beautiful historic building open for the public.  Illustrating life in the 1800's Dundurn Castle is a frozen time in history that  makes for a great day learning about a time gone by in Hamilton's history. Outdoor Scenic Trails

Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) is the largest botanical garden in Canada, a National Historic Site that Protects and restore 2450 acres of nature sanctuaries where approx. 50 listed species-at-risk have made their home.

Royal Botanical Gardens mission is to promote the public’s understanding of the relationship between the plant world, society and the environment.

Cootes Paradise Trails

18 Km of trails, 10 lookouts, 5 boardwalks and 12 creek crossings

Escarpment Property Trails

4.5 km of trails, 6 look outs and 4 creek crossings

Hendrie Valley

4.5 km of trails, 5 lookouts,2 boardwalks and 5 creek crossings

Pier 4 is a great place to cycle, roller blade, walk or jog the 6km curved pathway along the water or simply sit and enjoy the scenery. It’s close to the Marina with a ramp to put your boat in the water. Over at the Pier 8 there is an outdoor Recreational Skating Rink free to the public. Skate and helmet rentals available. This site is also a superb vantage point from which to enjoy water activities such as boating, windsurfing, and sailing or just unwind take in the scenery and have a picnic.

Experience life aboard a WWII Tribal Class Destroyer - Canada's most decorated warship. Walk the decks of the pride of the Royal Canadian Navy.H.M.C.S. Haida.

The goal to be Canada’s State Of The Art National Football Museum honouring Individual achievement and preserving the history of the game is the Canadians Football Hall of Fame mission.  Awarded to Hamilton in February 1963, the collection of football treasured artifacts started in the early 1960s and have increased to over 30,000 items consisting of trophies, helmets, playing equipment, game and record balls, jerseys, sweaters, jackets, flags, banners, photographs, films and videos. The collections are used extensively as part of the education programs to teach visitors about the history of Canadian Football.

Hamilton's Ti-Cats are the City's beloved football team. Enjoy a game and get into the spirit of the Ti-Cat - Argo rivalry.

Drive your own vehicles or take the Safari Tour Bus through the almost 700 acres at African Lion Safari. With more than 1000 exotic birds & animals representing over 100 different species, you will see a pride of Lions, troops of Baboons and herds of Zebra, Giraffe, White Rhino, Ostrich, Eland and many other species, both native and exotic. The drive takes about one hour, but allow for the whole day because there are so many things to see.

 

Located on the shores of Lake Ontario in Hamilton, Confederation Park is 93 hectares of fun and excitement. Activities at Confederation Park include Waterworks, Go-Karting, Camping, Adventure Village and Baranga's on the Beach. It is a large park with lots of activities, especially if you bring kids along. You could also take a scenic stroll, bike ride or skate along the 3.5-kilometre lakeshore promenade. Picturesque views of the shoreline and plenty of park space make this a perfect spot for picnicking or any outdoor outing.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

This is Canada's answer to the US Air Force Museum in Dayton. The collection is more modest, but still impressive. This is a must

see for any aviation buff. 

It has a number of the famous and not-so-famous aircraft that served in the Canadian forces, to include the Avro Lancaster bomber, one of two in the world, the CF-100 jet interceptor from the 1950s, and a number of Canadian versions of US planes such as the

CF-100 Voodoo interceptor and CF-86 Saber.

The Art Gallery of Hamilton was founded in 1914, the Art Gallery of Hamilton is Ontario’s third largest public art gallery and owns one of the finest collections of art in Canada, featuring over 10,000 works of art including historical European, historical Canadian and contemporary art with exhibitions that change three times a year.

The AGH began its major renovation project, transforming the aging building into an international art destination. Designed by Hamilton-born and raised architect Bruce Kuwabara, the $18 million revitalization project is Hamilton's Urban Design and Architecture Awards 2005 Winner: Excellence in Architectural Design. 

 

 

 

First Ontario Centre  is one of North America’s premier entertainment venues, housing a variety of spectacular concert and sporting events each year. The arena serves as home to AHL team The Hamilton Bulldogs and has been the site of many great moments in hockey, having hosted the World Junior Hockey Championships, the Canada Cup and the Memorial Cup, which is conveniently located near Hamilton Place and The Hamilton Convention Centre in the City’s cultural core. With its large capacity and impressive acoustics, FirstOntario Centre has become southern Ontario’s go-to venue for live shows. Playing to a host of amazing diverse group of local and international artists, including U2, The Who, Rush, Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears, and Elton John. The Juno Awards have been held at the venue numerous times and will return in 2015.
